Fourteen of us got together last month for two days of dyeing. We dyed warps and skeins of cellulose fiber, including cotton, tencel and rayon chenille. It was two intense days of playing with Procion MX Fiber Reactive Dyes, and various methods of applying the dye were covered. The results of the warps were as individual as all that were working. Some of us had never done any dyeing before, and others had plenty of experience, but not the equipment and space at home to do so. The results of all those dyed warps was breathtaking. It was so much fun to see the huge range of colors and styles that we all ended up with.

It was such a productive two days, that everyone decided it would be fun to make this a one day annual event. For those of us who don’t want to make the commitment to buy all the necessary supplies and tools, and don’t have the space to store them, it would give an opportunity to play with dye without having to find a place to do it! A definite date has not been set for the next "day to dye", however start NOW to wind those warps and skeins, and when the next dye day comes around, you’ll have plenty to work with, and will finish the day with many warps painted and
ready to weave throughout the year. Thanks to everyone who participated, and made the time so successful and fun!
