April 17, 2008: Speaker and topics:
April's program will feature Joe Marks, from the Berkowitz Gallery at the University of Michigan Dearborn, chronicling our the MWG exhibit there last fall. He will use our exhibit to explain and show how an exhibit is juried, set up, and advertised. He calls it "Exhibits, 101." It should give us some excellent insight into whathappens "behind the scenes" after you've dropped off your work for jurying. Also in April, Nancy Peck, President of the Handweaver's Guild of America, and a member of our guild, will give us a slide preview of Convergence 2008. For those of you going to Florida this summer, this will be a great way to get a taste of what will be happening in Tampa. Perhaps it will even persuade those of you who are on the fence about going to Convergence to go ahead and register. ![]() |
