New Workshop Registration Policy
Please be aware that some changes had to be made in our workshop registration policy. As of September 2008, workshop reservations will have to be made at least one month (30 days) in advance and will be nonrefundable.

The reason for this policy is that our contracts with teachers only allow us to cancel a teacher up to 30 days prior to the workshop or lecture. If we cancel later than that time, we must pay the presenter in full, except for their travel expenses. If you make a reservation and then find you are unable to come, you must find a substitute or forfeit your payment.

When planning charges for a workshop, attendance is figured on 10 – 12 people in attendance. The cost of the workshop is then divided by 10 or 12 and the fee set. The committee tries to keep fees as reasonable as possible. For example, for a 2 day workshop we held this year, the charge was $70, plus a small materials fee. An abbreviated version of this workshop is being offered at the BBAC for one day only for $125. To keep our workshop prices low, it is essential that we cancel any workshops that are not filled to the break-even point, and that must be done 30 days in advance.

Workshop participation is encouraged and we will allow late registrations (after the 30 day advance) for a late fee of an extra $10. However, by waiting to register late, you run the risk that the workshop will be cancelled for lack of attendance. Any comments about this policy and as usual, any suggestions for programs should be sent to Joan Koelsch.
